Central Semen Station (CSS) Bhopal was established during 1964-65 which is a unit of Madhya Pradesh State Livestock & Poultry Development Corporation. It is ISO 9001-2008 certified and accredited as grade ‘A’ in year 2016-17 by the Central Monitoring Unit (CMU) of the Department of Animal Husbandry Dairying and Fisheries, Government of India. It is well equipped and uses advanced technology for processing of semen. It produces over 3 million doses of conventional semen doses from different breeds of cattle and buffaloes for the state.
ST India has started its cooperation with MPLPDC and established sperm sex sorting laboratory under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM) and became operational from 1st March 2021. The lab was officially inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh on 3rd April.
At the state-of-the-art sex sorting lab located at the CSS campus, ST produces superior quality Sex Sorted Semen from different breeds of cattle such as Gir, Sahiwal, HF, Jersey and Murrah buffalo with female purity averaging 93% with all other quality parameters exceeding Indian and International standards.
